My experience here for breakfast was one disappointment after another. We sit down to order drinks and they are out of the cider that a girlfriend orders, as well as the moonshine her bf ordered (they poured the last teaspoon into a glass for him). My bf orders a bloody mary which was pretty bland, my kolsch draft was the only successful beverage order. For our food, i wanted the banana bread french toast, but they were out. With months and months left of ski season I don't understand how a restaurant can be out of so many things! $14 gets you 2 eggs, 2 slices of overcooked bacon, a bit of cinnamon bread (or toast, or a pancake, which was actually a decent size), and a spoonful of hashbrowns. I know it's a restaurant at a ski resort but $14 is excessive. On top of the over priced mediocre food and lack of items in stock they stuck us with an autogratuity charge, for a 4 top! With three of the four of us being in the industry that was salt on the wound. I'll be skiing copper all season and won't be coming back for any meal.

Staying at copper for the weeks and we thought we would give this place a try. Fondue sounded fun slopeside. Big mistake. Food was not good and way overpriced. First off, the chili was just plain awful, as if you bought it out of a can and heated it up. Second it came in a stale bread bowl. Bad for $12. Kids meals. $12 for kids pasta (adult is 16) poorly cooked pasta with butter and craft macaroni and cheese. Peanut oil fondu. Sauces were awful. Chicken faded bad and we had sausage which was pepperoni (they said bison). We couldn't even eat half of it and the server never asked if there were any issues or asked if they could do something. It was obvious we were not happy. Bottom line. Way too overpriced, poor food, mediocre service. Even though I'm not going back to copper For a while I'm not wasting any time here. Move on down the center town.the burgers are better than this place. Not worth it.

Our whirlwind of a weekend in Copper Mountain left us clueless as to where to get good food/drinks while not attending wedding festivities. We stopped here for drinks the afternoon we arrived. Unfortunately for us happy hour was an hour away, but the beers on tap kept us satisfied until happy hour rolled around. Friendly service with a smile, and a nod for tolerating our loud group. The next morning we stopped here for breakfast and it filled our bellies with greasy goodness. This was entirely necessary to soak up the left over alcohol in our systems. For not having a lot of choices for breakfast in Copper, this place fit the bill. However, veer away from the oatmeal because it tasted a lot like cardboard. Just saying...

Went here for breakfast on new years day. I had the Sestriere Rosti It's basically mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes on top of hashbrowns with eggs on top. It was very tasty and very filling - didn't have to eat anything else all day even with a full day of boarding on the mtn! My sis got the eggs benedict and that was good as well - their homestyle potatoes are very tasty!

Rack it up as one more less than impressive Copper Mountain restaurant. We were looking for a 'sit-down' breakfast place (in addition to our typical stop at the Belgian Bean) and ended up at Alpinista. Even though it was relatively slow, the two servers couldn't really keep up with the diners and our breakfast dragged on and on. And while I'm used to paying exorbitant prices at resorts, the $4 for one slice of 'French Toast' was almost laughable. Generally, breakfast was a bust. The biscuits and gravy (as well as pancakes) were pretty good, and I'm willing to guess that the biscuits were homemade, but was it worth $12 a plate? Not really... I'd rather spend that money elsewhere. I did however, have a great shooter here for Apres. So a fine (not too crowded) place to drink at the bar, but not somewhere I'll eat at again.

Horrible, slow service. Food was average. Can't see us going back to give it a second chance. Got the feeling like they weren't motivated to please since we don't have many other options at copper to eat.

Excellent service and food. I love the family feel. The owners took time to talk to us and made sure we were well taken care of for our breakfast. Can't wait to go back and try dinner.

We loved this place! You're in the mountains and hopefully relaxing after a great day on the slopes or a great morning to kick off the day. We ate here 3 times in a 5 day period. Twice for dinner and once for breakfast. We stuck to the fondue (cheese) and desert (chocolate fondue), so we can't speak for the menu items. Having lived overseas, the fondue was authentic and the raclette looked great! The milk chocolate/white chocolate desert fondue was amazing!! Breakfast did not disappoint either. We felt like the wait staff was available as needed and did not check in too often. They allowed us to enjoy our meal and good company. Nothing but great things to say about Alpinista. Enjoy! If you are in a hurry, go to McDonalds. BTW, the wine list is already on the tables in the evening. House wine is avg., but there are other really good options for only $1 or $2 more per bottle.

Honestly, i was so mad. Food was good. REally good. there was really good toast. I ordered whole wheat toast and it was awesome and buttered but definitely wasnt whole wheat bread. But I had a problem.... service was so slow and our waitress did not have it together. i understand that u can smoke here, "recreationally". but i hope this girl was high because if she wasnt she really was not capable of completing menial tasks. I got good scrambled eggs but some of my friends didnt get good eggs. Especially the omletes. Im under the impression that u serve an omlette with the stuff within the egg, but the stuff was just on top. Thats just scambled eggs with vegetables on top. Let me reiterate, the service was terrible. and it was empty and really frickin expensive. I should have paid max 15 dollars for 2 eggs scambled and fruit, and toast, but i unfortunately paid 25 dollars including a 4 dollar autmoatic gratuity. I feel like thats my decision but whatever!! i dont mind paying alot for good food and service but like that was WAYYYY TOOO MUCHHHH. i honestly think maybe i went in with too high of expectations but the ambiance suggested i was gonna get a dope comfort food meal with friendly service but no...

Made a reservation last night over the phone, showed up to the restaurant only to find that it had closed. (At 7:45, supposedly open til 10). Great job!!

We ate here for breakfast, which was amazing and filling before hitting the slopes. Our server (and Manager) Jason gave good guidance helping us not to over-order. His honesty and hospitality convinced us to return for the evening fondue/grill special. The fondue meal was an amazing treat. We will be back!

Wish there was an option for less then 1 star. This place sucks. I cannot comment on the food but I am now eminently qualified to comment on the management and wait staff. They seem to never have heard about the concepts of integrity and credibility. If they had, a 30 minute wait would not have turned into a 85 minute wait with us eventually walking out without eating. If they had integrity and credibility we would not have walked out with having to pay for a beer. These are probably good people but are playing in an arena that is way above their expertise.

Perhaps one of my weirdest dining experiences in a long time. We went in to Alpinista for sit-down service the night before but were told by the manager / owner that they were too busy and couldn't serve us in a timely manner. He had some big tables that were taking up the kitchen resources. Restaurant was slow otherwise. So, we took this as kinda thoughtful and we appreciated that heads up. Had dinner somewhere else that night. The next night we ordered takeout from Alpinista. When I went in to pick it up 30 minutes later the same guy was telling the family in front of me that he couldn't serve them in a timely manner so they should go somewhere else. Hmmmmm, heard that one before and they weren't even busy. I took our take-out food back to the condo and began to unwrap. We had ordered the brats dinner and mac n cheese for the kids to spit, wife got baked brie and a salad and I got the Mont Blanc with chicken and a French onion soup. For some reason, we received a brat sandwich with saur kraut, a BUNCH of salads (one salad had sliced bratwurst on it...didn't even see that on the menu) and the Mont Blanc with chicken had a small amount of veggie and some canned pickles and peppers mixed in. The chicken tasted and looked like that same chicken you get on an airplane....flat and tasteless. The kids hated, and would not eat, the mac n cheese. A FIRST! I'm thinking that it was a cheese they didnt like and it may have had too much garlic in it. I had a taste and didn't think it was good either. The Mont Blanc had spaetzle and chicken but the sauce tasted like a strange combo of brown gravy and Polynesian sweet and sour sauce. Very odd. The brie was the only thing worth having again. It seems from the other reviews that the breakfast is very good and some other items on the dinner menu might be better like the fondue. After my first week in Copper, I can safely say I would still make the drive to Frisco, Breckenridge or Vail rather than going to almost any place in Copper Village.

Adequate food, dirty tablecloth, lip prints on the wineglass, dishes not that clean either! And it's expensive with a very limited menu.

Ate there this morning. Food and service were excellent. Perhaps a little pricey but well worth it for the high quality food. I will eat there again.

We ate at this restaurant tonight and I can't think of any redeeming qualities. Service was slow, food was terrible, we had to beg for a wine menu, kids menus and water. The waitress was frazzled and the kitchen was slow. It was hard to tell who was at fault. Clearly both of the other tables in our area were totally unimpressed too. One complained loudly to the manager about the quantity of fondue for the price. The other was clearly working very hard to be patient for their terribly slow service since they were seated before us and were still waiting to pay when we finally stormed out. Definitely do not eat here!

This is a follow up to my review on 1/10/2015. This restaurant ruined our entire ski weekend with their complete ineptitude. My wife got food poisoning from the fondue because the oil was not hot enough to thoroughly cook the meat. This is listed as their feature entree. Totally inexcusable and totally irresponsible. Eat here at your own peril.

Great bar tender here that was very knowledgable about the products he sold. I have tried absinthe in europe a few times and even seen it here at home. I went in and tried the Kurbel brand absinthe and was mildly impressed. Not quite the kick as I have had overseas, but this was pretty strong. The smell of anise and fennel was all over the place as soon as the ice cold water was being dripped over the sugar cube in to the glass. I love the ambiance here and the best thing, was the leg lamp from A Christmas Story was on one of the ledges near the bar. Great for a laugh!

Good selection of beers. The hot fried calamari was very good and goes very well with a pint of cold beer. The menu is uninspiring and the food is ok but definetly not worth the price. I ate at this restaurant three times during my trip to CM and therefore cannot say I wouldn't go back.

Had breakfast here today, just as fabulous as dinner. If you like chile verde, go for the Alpinista burrito. DELISH!

My family loved this restaurant last season. Our favorite spot every time we visited. The family style fondue menu was a hit. So disappointed this is no longer on the menu. We ordered off the menu this evening. I must say that while tasty, the experience for the same amount of money was disappointing. We left hungry and dashed to the new pizza place at Copper (yummy)and treats at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to round out the evening. I will support other establishments at Copper based off our experience this evening. Sorry Alpinista my family will find a new dining experience at the mountain this season.

Going on vacation and eating out all the time is very hard especially when family is used to home made food. Found this place for dinner after having terrible food at near by places. Dinner was so delicious. Everything was made from scratch with very fresh ingredients. We ended up coming here for breakfast and dinner for the rest of our trip. Very friendly and helpful staff definitely adds to this amazing experience.

Great $10 belgian beers, but an hour wait for food that was mediocre at best. No explanation. Avoid.

Just had a delicious fondue dinner. Jason took wonderful care of us, from his spot-on wine suggestion to his entree recommendation to going the extra mile to ensure that our six year old had an enjoyable dinner to cap off his day.

I recently ate here during the summer months, the Belgian beers were very affordable (leffe was 6 bucks) the atmosphere was very nice, mountain lodge with a Swiss vibe. They offer some very good Swiss food and fondu which can be a tad pricey but one has to remember that prices will be higher in the mountains. Deals. They offered an amazing happy hour special of beer, brat and fries for 5.50. The fries were a bit undercooked but the 2.50 draft specials made up for it. Something we noticed is that we came in here a decent amount during our 4 night stay, toward the end they seemed to be very merciful with the bills, comping us drinks numerous times which anyone will tell you is a great service technique. The service is very friendly and the owner/chef comes around a lot to chat, he's really friendly which makes for a nice experience.

My wife and I were riding thru Copper from Vail and decided to stop to grab something to eat and ended up spending over an hour relaxing and enjoying the food, view and staff at Alpinista. I am not sure which I enjoyed more the ride or the lunch. We sat outside and were wowed by not only the views, but staff and even the owner Peter stopped by numerous times to talk and answer questions we had about the area. My wife's brie and shrimp salad was stellar and nothing beats a brat & brew on a warm late summer day. We are definitely looking forward to coming back for dinner to try the fondue or raclette next time -and a few of the beers I had to miss being on my bike.
